Purchased a Stingray Classic 4 2 weeks ago from Long and Mcquade in Toronto, Canada.

B052936 - Classic Sting Ray in Coral Red, Flamed Maple neck, completed on January 10, 2011

The nut was probably the worst setup I've ever encountered in over 40 years of playing bass. The guys at the store told me that it came that way from MM in California. I'm going to post a photo tomorrow morning to show you guys. It's literally about 1.5 cm's tall in height, with rigid string grooves that aren't equi-distant and the strings are in SO deep that there's over 1cm of "wall" around the strings (never seen anything like this on any other bass or MM!) Also, the back of the nut wasn't cut properly so my E string is hitting the headstock. Pretty disappointed.

Take it back to the store and have them do what they're supposed to do, but this is a discussion forum, not the phone line for Customer Service. Thanks.
