Bueno Compadre's,
I noticed a 77' Stingray on E-bay, and the seller described the neck as being a "Rare factory 1.5 Jazz Bass styled neck" I own a 77', and it's at the shop,so I can't measure mine, but what is the "common" measurment at the nut for Music man's of that period? Hope to hear from y'all soon with the answer!

I don't know the width of the Fender 5 compared to the SR5 but with the 4 string Pre-EB 'Ray, nut width was typically 1 5/8". The optional "Narrow" neck was around 1 1/2" at the nut which is about the same as the Fender J Bass neck.

The same optional narrow neck feature was also available for the Pre-EB Sabre Bass. Some believe it was standard which is not the case.

The narrow neck, for both the Pre-EB 'Rays and Sabres, was only available on the Maple necks and not with the Rosewoods.
