Hi, So ive pretty much been stuck on musicman guitars for awhile now. I dont have too much money, but if i save up i would be able to afford a Sub. Im a shred kind of player and i was just wondering if the Sub1 had a floating tremolo, same with the OLPMM JP. I pretty much wont get a guitar unless it has a floating trem. where i can pull up on lol. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

The choice for me between an OLP and a SUB is easy. Go with the SUB. You can set the SUB trem to float if it isn't already. The sub is an Ernie Ball Music Man made in America.

I bleeb the SUB comes set up to lower pitch only but the one I bought was set to float. All you would have to do is loosen the trem claw. It pulls up and works just fine.

Sub all the way...the olp may look close to an Axis( which it is not ) but the Sub is an ernie ball guitar...no comparison...btw, i do own an olp to knock around when i'm watching tv....but the subs are smooth...great buy and quality for the $$$$$!!!!

Can I hijack the thread for a while? :D

What kinds of tremolo bridges are there and what are the differences? Locking, floating, double-locking, non-locking etc.?

The S.U.B. 1 is a great guitar - I've played some really resonant ones that would be great for funk, and dialing back a touch on the volume control can really open up the pickups...
