Hello everybody, I'm a newbye.

I have a stingray 5 and I have a problem....I think that the output level of my instrument is quite low. I also have a sterling ray 5 and I'ts volume is higher. What problem it could be? Is there any trim or similar?

Try a fresh 9 Volt alkaline battery (Has it been a long time since you changed the battery?) If that doesn't work contact EBMM customer service or a good tech.

I think the battery has no more than 3 months...but I'll give a try. I have a mark bass head, the sa450. If I want to set the gain control in a position that is near to clip, I have to set it at about 13 o'clock....i think is too much high....

Yes I mean, I put the gain pot slightly above half-scale....! If you imagine the pot as if it is a clock, i set it at 13"

Since there is no 13 on a clock, you'd say 1 o'clock.

Anyway, is this SR5 new?

Call customer service and they will help you.

I just bought a brand new SR5 and had the same exact problem... among other things... and I'm still waiting to get it back.

But, yeah... there was no high end and the output was about 2/3rds the output of my SR4... very noticeable difference between the two.

Youe are right :) Sorry!!!

No my SR5 is a second hand one and it has been made in 2005. I read in some other forums that is quite normale for the SR5 to have an output lower than other actives basses. I also have a Sterling Ray 35 and it kiks more volume than the SR5.

They should answer your email, and they'll help you figure things out.

PS: If you include your home city/country in your Profile information, it helps...

My SR5 has also the lowest output of all my MM basses, but as long as it sounds as sweet as it does .... I don`t care at all ;-) adding a little gain --> problem solved.

+1 - my SR5s a 2005 and is similar.

I tend to use the passive input on my amp for my Ray 5 and Stingrays, and the active input for the Bongo. If I use the passive input for the SRs having the Ashdown gain at about 10 - 11 o clock means the needle touches the red area on the VU meter when you play hard - the active input requires 12 to 1 o clock (or 1300 hrs if you want ;) :D ) with the same basses - there isn't that much to choose between them but the Bongo is way hotter!

Turning the gain up a little is no problem - I've used my SR5 at loud rock gigs and it's never been an issue.
