Good Morning!

Quick question about the radience red color: My understanding is that RR used to be a limited run color that is now offered at an additional cost... If I was to order a guitar in RR and choose the matching headstock option would the headstock come in black like the limited run or in RR?

How would you describe the major difference between candy red and RR? From what I've seen on the web these two colors seem pretty similar...

Thanks for the info!

I don't think Radiance Red is available at an extra cost. (Although I've been wrong about lots of things lately!)

It was indeed a limited edition color and the limit has been reached (meaning, I don't think you can order it anymore).

If they kept it available, then it wouldn't be "limited" and it would probably cause resentment among those who bought it because it was a "limited edition" color.
I believe they all came with the black headstock, no matching headstock.

Ok I might be wrong, but it is on the available color chart on the MM website (with a statement that it is available at an extra cost). Other limited edition color (such as buttercream) are not on that chart...

Then again that website has not been updated in a while I believe...

Can anyone provide further info?

Thanks!

I could be wrong as well, but did koogie not recently say he has a rad red pet with matching stock - I'm pretty sure one of the regulars posted this

I believe the limited edition RR came with a black headstock, then they kept RR available, but can't get a black headstock.

I think we need to summon Dargin or Derek for this one.

Rad Red is indeed on the color chart, and it's a $100 MSRP upcharge on the Options list. But I think it always was $100 more due to the fact that it is/was a limited edition color.

Perhaps you can still get Rad Red (i.e. the 'limited' time hasn't expired), but if so, I'd bet it's with the black headstock like all the others.

You CAN order a radiance red instrument, just not as the L.E. w/ the black headstock.
I've seen several rad. red basses/guitars w/ natural or matching headstocks. Maybe Jon can fill us in on why they decided to keep going with the color after the L.E. run. Perhaps because it's a beautiful color. ;) As to the question about rad red vs. candy red. Candy red is more of a classic, deep, darker red(I have it on one of my Bongos) and rad red is a brighter, eye opening, almost sparkly red.

Choose wisely!

You can get the Rad Red w/ matching headstock. I have one that way. The black headstock was the Limited Edition run.

They are however launching lefty lukes at the Indianapolis NAMM... Hummm Rad Red lukes... me think it would be schweeet! :D

If you want to try a lefty EBMM you'll be more than welcome to give it a shot...
