I've got a MM Axis that I purchased 2 months ago. I love how it plays. My only issue is that the tremolo is just too stiff. I would like to remove a spring but, I'm concerned that I will create an intonation issue. Also, since I haven't really been using the bar that much, I am worried that I will start to have issues with keeping the guitar in tune.

Would someone please explain to me what I need to be concerned with before I would attempt to go from 3 to 2 springs.

Thanks for the help!

No issues...just yank the middle one out....and them move the other two so they're oriented like this: / \

You might require a little more tension to crank the bridge down to lay flat on the guitar...which can be achieved thru tightening the claw screws...all in all sounds good dude. Let me know how it pans out...you can always readd the middle spring....

You might want to lube the nut slots with some chapstick and also the bridge saddles under the strings...and the knife edges too....chapstick rules...

If we are talking about an Axis, and not a Super Sport, It comes from the factory with 2 springs.
