Hey guys I finally got my guitar intonated, but I have a question. The schaller locks, are they just to be hand tightened? I strung them normally, but I wasn't sure If they need just hand tightened or with a tool of some sort. If I use the whammy bar (im not a whammy bar user normally) a couple strings go out of tune. Also, Im trying to to get my pickup closer to the strings, But Im not sure about the screws the are holding the pickups in. Are they like normal ones, where when you tighten them they raise, and vice versa. or is there some other method? The screws seemed pretty tight, and I didnt want to risk stripping the screw. Any help would be appreciated.

You just tighten the locking tuners by hand.

I'm not sure about the pick up height though, l know it can be done, cause my tech did it for me.

Scott.

The pickups are hard mounted to the body. The only way to adjust the height is with shims.(we don't do that)

By stringing normally do you mean utilizing the wrap method, if so you need only pull the string thru the post and lock it down by tightening the thumbscrew...using the wraps will cause the strings to stretch more and less tuining stability...

w/ the locking wheel.....finger tight is all you need. if you overtighten them...they will develope grooves...and slip. sorta tight i call it....
it doesn't take as much as most people think to hold the string.

exactly...but i was talking about wrapping on the post....this is unecessary with locking keys....

Yep, the less string on the post the better. After locking an tuning to pitch, I usually have no more than a quarter to a half turn of string on a post.
