Hey!*

I have a question. I've got a good offer from a friend who's selling a MM reflex HH, just like this one:*Music Man Reflex Electric Guitar | GuitarCenter
The thing is, I prefer the looks when the guitar has chrome pickup covers, as well as chrome knobs and selector switch, like this:*Music Man Game Changer Reflex HH Electric Guitar | GuitarCenter
What do you guys think: Would it be accomplishable to buy the chrome hardware separate from EBMM (do they sell separate parts like that?) and put it on the other Reflex to make it look like a chrome edition? (sorry if this is very novice in any way, I'm still quite new to guitars)

thanks in advance :)*

The Reflex should come standard with chrome pickup covers and knobs. If the one you're buying from your friend is missing the chrome hardware, contact A.J. in customer service. Those parts can be bought separately.

The earlier of Reflexes did not come with covers and pickups were mounted on mounting rings. Current reflexes are indeed "chromed up".

Most of the parts are super easy to come by and you don't necessarily have to buy them from EBMM. It's a very easy job to do and shouldn't cause any problems, provided the pickup covers fit the mounting rings.

I'm sure somebody else will chime in and say if that's the case (or not).

The knobs are different. The Chrome knobs are screw on and the creme ones are push on. I could be wrong but I believe you would need to replace the pots in order to make the switch because the shafts would be different. The pickups would need to be swapped out. The easiest part would be the pickup rings.

Dr.Kev,
I've ordered parts from EBMM(A.J.) several times. It's always been as easy as one phone call. I'm just a big advocate of using genuine EBMM parts on EBMM guitars. Just saying.................

To my knowledge EB will not sell you the pups so unless you find them used you are out of luck there. If the deal was good enough I would consider forgetting about chrome but that is just my opinion

I would imagine you could get the chrome covers from Dimarzio who make the pickups. They shouldn't be proprietary to MM.

To add chrome covers I think you need to wax the pickups and solder them as well. It's not an easy task at all. Removing them isn't too bad (although sometimes messy) but adding them is a whole different story. You are way better off just buying a set of chrome covered pickups.
