Are the new JPs being produced with birdseye necks? I recently read a post from BP that said it was becoming rare or harder to get. Just curious.

They don't have the same birdseye as the Axis's from the stores I've been visiting the past 3 weeks on the road..Still nice..But kinda remind me more of a knotty-pine..then a birds-eye maple...But they might be shipping them that way to Guitar Center. But wood gets like that..several of the woods on my basses made pre-92 are on endangered species lists now .

I'll love it either way. My Axis was made in 2001 and has a great birdseye neck and fingerboard on it.

Neither of my JPs have any birdseye on the neck. One of Beachjammer's JPs has the most birdseye I have ever seen though!
