First of all I would like to say that I'm the first one to be exited with the GameChanger and that I really can't wait to see, hear, try one and hopefully purchase one.

But then after watching the teaser about 10 times , some questions raised

The GameChanger is a computer based product with a USB connection

How can we be sure that USB connection will still be a standard in 20, 30, 40 years from now?

I know BP said that you can reset it to default setting in the worst case and still use your guitar as a regular one.

I know I was using a midi guitar 30 years ago and today the Roland connector is still the same one as the one designed 30 years ago

I'm not too concerned cause I found the concept so revolutionary that I'm already a fan but just wondering how those guitar will adjust to the fast changing technology environment (especially if the USB interface disappear from our computers) ?

Speaking on the computer side of things... That's really easy to compensate for. If USB ever starts being phased out you can be sure the market will be flooded with adapters to ease this process.

Look at the switch from VGA->DVI. I have like 10 of those VGA->DVI adapters floating around my apartment.

Guys, it's too early to speculate based on nothing.

NAMM is right around the corner. I know it's human nature to be curious, but let's let EBMM unveil the GC first before we start playing 20 questions. BP's been kind enough to hip us to the whole GC thing so the least we can do is show a little restraint until it's been officially announced.

Plus ... let's give them the benefit of the doubt since they generally seem to know what they're doing ;)

Being involved in the IT industry i don't think much will change as far as connection goes and USB will stay around for quite some time.
if you notice Firewire came on the scene and tried to say that it was faster than USB and at the time it was faster than standard USB and then USB 2.0 came out equiling the fields... i have seen some surfacing of a USB 3.0 using the same connections...
It's a stable interface that a lot of pereferials are using and to change up USB would be to completley overhaul the market phone syncs, Chargers, printers, external drive sources, thumb drives, just too much to change at this point...

so think USB will stand the test of time... and if not there will be a flood of adaptors... i have a box full of PS2 Connection to USB for keyboards and mice... so you should be ok for a long time no matter what
