I've been teaching for a few years and I am currently putting together my own tuition package. Do any of you guys know of a fully editable music score program. I need something that I can get a few bars of music on and then write text underneath it. I have cubase and I'm sure there is a way of doing it on there but haven't had bags of time to figure it out. I've alos tried sibelius and a few others. Mostly, the text you can add is very limited and you end up with a page of blank staves when i only want maybe chunks of a few bars at a time.

Any info would be greatly a apreciated. Thanks!!

P.S. AM I ok to post stuff like this on the guitar forum?

Id suggest Guitar Pro, as mentioned before. If you cant make the text you want fit in the space available, there is a song properties window you can bring up that has a section called "Notes" or "Song Notes" or something like that. Its easy to get to, I just cant remeber what its called off the top of my head.

Power Tab and Guitar Pro are very similar. And while it's true Power Tab is a free program, I feel Guitar Pro is better. I've used both and feel Guitar Pro is easier to use. It also has a cast amount of sounds for guitar, bass, drums, and a plethora of other instruments. It also has the ability to make drum tracks along with guitar parts. Just my two cents.

As a side note, you can generally find Guitar Pro on Kazaa, Morpheus or something like that. Also, if you do go the Guitar Pro route, make sure to get Guitar Pro 4, not 3. It'll play all of 3's files, but 3 wont play 4's.

Good luck with your search.

Edit: Apparently they have 5 out now. I'd go for that one instead of 4.
