They finish the review with a resounding endorsement of the instrument, which I'll second. In fact, if you know where one is, and you decide not to buy it, tell me, and I'll pick it up - I've been looking for a good one for a while now.The Axis Sport is essentially Ernie Ball/Music Man's take on the Fender school, adding tributes from Strats and Teles, but doing it with the company's famed attention to detail... {snip} ...the real standout attractions on the body are the DiMarzio single-coils that were wound for this guitar. They are so well-voiced for this ash-bodied guitar, it's scary. running through a variety of amps, the Axis Sport sounded superb, especially for clean work. Ash tends to have a fat bottom-end and somewhat bell-like tones, and this Axis didn't disappoint in that regard.
