I have a question. Why is it on some guitars, when playing like a little bluesy riff, the D string's(4 string) sound is hidden if played right after playing the 6th & 5th strings together. Some guitars I've played, you can hear the d string note clearly when played rt. after, and on some guitars (rt. now my 20th silo), that strings note is faint and hidden if played rt after playing an open E with the 6th & 5th strings. The only way to hear that note clearly is to mute or deaden the other strings rt. before I play that D string.
Any input on this? Is there anything I can to to alleviate this? Could it be related to the string guage? On my guitar with 10's, this does not happen, or at least, not as bad.
Thanks,

You might try raising the saddle a tad.

Are the poles adjustable on a 20th?

Its just might. Try raising the pole a bit, and make sure the string isn't too low. If it is, just raise that one saddle a bit. Does it happen equally with both pickups? If so, raise both poles a little.

My bad.........I don't think the poles are adjustable.
OK bp, I'll take it to the guy at gc that helped me before.
Thanks.

pretty sure its been mentioned here before that you shouldnt mess with the saddles at all, if it has come new from the factoy, they set em up good and proper. most little neck issues ive had have been fixed by a truss adjustment, but of course that wont work for every thing.

BP, yep, I got that. My thinking was maybe the string was bottoming out. The hex screws on a couple of my saddles used to move sometimes from palming. Problem was solved with shorter hexes.

I shouldn't nose in on these sorts of questions, though, other than to point to CS.
