Hi guys,
I have a quick question. I recent read the guitar world write up on the the jp13. The way the article is worded, the jp13 preamp is always active even if the boost is no engaged.
I was under the impression that the active preamp was only active if you are using the piezo or if you engage the boost (through the push/push volume knob).
So when you are just using the magnetic pickups, is the preamp on or off?
Are the pickups in the JP13 an active/passive hybrid like the SD Gus G sig pickups? Or only become active when the boost is engaged?
I recent got my JP13 7 string recently and love it! It sounds great and more articulate and clearer than my JP12 7. Just curious of how the preamp works in the overall tonal circuit of the guitar.
