Questions about the original Sting Ray guitars.

Hey all

This is my first "real" post, cause I don't count my intro. Nice to be here. I'm appreciative of all the Music Man instruments. Most are pretty, but some I'm not a huge fan of, but everyone has their own cup of tea.

I'm wondering about the original Sting Ray guitars. Does anyone here own one? How are they? They look cool to me. They have elements of the bass and there's definitely some Leo Fender there. I found a few used online for decent prices. I'm all over the place here, but what I guess I'm asking is how are they as playable instruments? Also any technical info would be much appreciated

Hey Marc-

The older Music Man instruments were made before Ernie Ball bought the company. While they kept the Stingray bass, the guitars were discontinued in favour of newer designs. So mostly you're going to find people here that are familiar with the newer offerings.

There are a few guys that are savvy about the pre EB models, maybe someone who knows can chime in.
