Hi there, new here, I just got a new-to-me Luke. Great guitar, great feeling neck, am very happy! As the guitar was pre-owned I need to do some tweeks to it and have a couple of questions to other Luke owners; would be great if somebody could help me out....!

- what distance do you have between the EMG-pickups and the strings? All pickups at same or various heights?
- The previous owner did some creative modification to the wiring of the five way switch that I would like to reverse to the original state. Could somebody of you provide a photo and / or a wiring diagram of the 5-way switch?

Any help would be deeply appreciated! :)

Hi there and welcome!

The Luke has a fixed height for the EMG pickups. There is no height adjustment unless you'd like to put some foam behind the pickup and adjust the screws. I have done this on other guitars but not the Luke. IMO it doesn't need adjustment. It's set up just the way Luke likes it!

I have a pickup diagram, but I think it's better for you to contact customer care to get it from them directly.

Thanks! Ok, I was wondering about that. Seems I don´t have to worry about pickup height. :)

The 5 Way Switch seems to be really odd at the moment:
1: middle PU
2: middle + neck
3: neck
4: neck + bridge
5: neck + bridge (same as 4)

The double layer switch seems to be standard in all Lukes, right?
I found already a pickup diagram on the support page of EMG, but was hoping somebody would have a photo. There is also a small circuit board in there. Well, let´s see.....

I put some foam under my Luke's bridge pickup and now I finally got this heavy sound I was looking for!!! Huge improvement (to me)!

Thanks to all! I ended replacing the switch, which finally turned out to be defect. The previous owner obviously had been looking for a creative workaround....
