I remember the THD hotplate. But alot of people swore by these Webers. Plus the Weber isa bit cheaper. Personally saving a few bucks doesn't matter. But these Webers look to be made by a single guy and not a huge company. I like supporting the little guy

make sure you get the ohms selection right. The THD is a little different to these. These look like you have more control over your amp

I remember a while ago someone telling me on these forums about the Weber power attenuators. I want to pick one up but I don't know which one. I want to use it with a Mesa F-30.

Heres the link to the products.

Attenuators

I think this is the one I need...

Unless you're specifically looking for power tube breakup, give this a try:

Of course, you can't already be using the loop. For a quick test, plug an unused cable in the FX send jack and into nothing else. Plug another cable into the FX return jack. On the open end of the FX Return cable, wrap a bit of aluminum foil around the end so that the tip and sleeve are connected and secure it with a rubber band. Then, turn on your amp. I like to leave the FX mix pot at around 2 - 3:00 and then adjust the CH2 master for my low volume tones.

I have a Hot Plate I also use with my F-100, but this method is very effective.

Should that cable be instrument or speaker cable?

Either way Ill give this a shot. I'm always up for a Sunday project.
