Died yesterday. One of the most sought after session players over the last fifty years and a true gentleman. RIP Big Jim.

I have seen Big Jim play scores of times with Willy Austen and my most favorite memory of him was at a gig in Pulbourgh, Sussex,England were the pub was so short of storage places that he put his moulded guitar case in the fire place.About 20 minutes later,folks were passing out and feeling sick,what he didnt know was that there were still burning embers alight in the fire place and his lovely new case had in fact melted causing all sorts of fumes.When he left at the end of the evening he put his new guitar back in its case and the neck was sticking proud of the very melted case by some 6 inches.
RIP fella.
