Why the upcharge for Radiance Red?

Mystic Dream is special paint with pretty cool technology behind it so I understand the upcharge there.
Bursts require at least 2 colours and better looking wood so more labour so I understand the upcharge there.
Natural requires the best looking ash so I understand the extra cost for the materials and the labour to find them.

I just don't understand what's special about RR other than it's a great colour.:)

Just wonderin'.

Here's my guess:
Red paint is oftentimes more expensive, and having the gold metalflake in it only pushes the price up further.

OR
It was originally offered as a Limited Edition package back in '04 with an upcharge and EB didn't want to hear people whine if they got the LE package and then later the same color was offered as standard production color for no additional charge.

I would be a whiner.

If I'm not mistaken, the Radiance Red has a much bigger flake in the paint. So, I imagine it's a much bigger PITA to clean the painting booth/room/gun/etc than most finishes.

Oh, and it's made from elves, and those suckers are difficult to harvest and skin. :D

And, the part about it being made from elves. You forgot about that part being correct.
Not exactly - I don't think anybody forgot - it's just no longer OK to talk about what happens to elves in the world of biznuss - it raises the ugly questions about what happens to elf parts that aren't used for making Radiance Red; and MickieDeez don't want us knowing everything about what we eat ...
