Yes, Brad is a great dude. When I asked about it and said I would have the money until March 15, he just marked it sold and held it for me. How cool is that?
New band and debut gig April 30th - that's where this is going!
Well, I'll say what everyone says - its better than expected!
Here are some high-points (so far) and what always surprises me about the Bongo
The Radiant Red is gorgeous - not as red as I expected, much richer and more depth. It has more of a gold hue to it.
Was thinking of changing the pickguard, until I saw that it is more of a parchment color than white. It looks awesome and just adds to the deeper gold tones of the red. I LOVE it.
Wondered why the special edition had a black headstock. Why, because its awesome! Again, the black just works with the gold and pickguard to create a depth of color.
Rosewood - see above!
Tie them all together, and the color scheme is just gorgeous. Just what I wanted and better than I expected.
Not sure why, but I always think of the Bongo as a 'big' bass size wise. I am always pleasantly surprised at how small it feels in your hands, sleek, thin, and extremely comfortable.
Its all good! More details when I actuall play it!!
You're very welcome Jim. I hope it serves you well for a long time. I completely agree about the color - Radiance Red gets my vote for the best metallic red finish ever. It has so much depth and glow to it, even in subdued lighting.
