I was at an outdoor concert last night. The bass player in one of the bands, a Meatloaf tribute band, was playing a Stingray. This was no ordinary Stingray, it was a 20th Anniversary Ray with rosewood fretboard. I was stoked to see someone with the same model as mine.
One thing, that sucker really cut through the mix. He also had some non-descript 5-banger that he played on a couple of tracks. The difference was incredible, just nothing there from that bass. I really don't know why he didn't have a SR5.
