Repainting will decrease it's resale value

By a long shot! There's at least one company selling relic versions of basses that are supposed look old and well used - and charging a premium for it! They don't look to me like a bass that's been through years of gigs. It takes years and years of playing to do it. I'd vote against having it refinished, but it's your bass. Post some shots if you can.

i found a 79' sabre in a pawn shop. the bass (i'm guessing) was natural color, the previous owner removed the finish and stained it a trans green. they kept all the orginal parts on it (minus the pick gaurd).the staining they did was very uneven, simply put just plain UGLY! but the bass sounded great! the price was right also ($99:D) the good people at eb. know me as a knuckle head that likes to restore basses. most of the places that offer refinishing on bass (now pay attention) SUCK! so eb refinished it for me. I don't know if they still offer that service but, they did a incredible job!!!!!!!! i mean incredible! when i used to play out the best offer i have ever recieved for the bass was $1,500. sometimes its worth the investment. when eb offered the service they had certain rules: basses are only refinished in the orignal color. if color can't be determined (as in my case) you can pick a stock color. call customer service for more info. remember aja 19 price is determined by demand. if it looks cool and people want it, they will pay. also make sure you pick a company that does good work. that's my story and i'm sticking to it!!!

Re-Paint

Thanks for the input , i was kinda thinking it would be more negative than pos, and quite honestly, i was hoping ya`ll would say so, actually its not that bad,it sounds awesome after all these years, its mostly ware usage, and i won`t be playing it much since i`ve gotten use to playing my EB SR5 which i posted about in the past,on another note,i`m not very good with digital cameras, the only time i tried to post some pics of my 79`and my Eden Rig, it was too big of a file or megabytes,i don`t know what they call it,but if ya`ll can give me some tips on how to shoot ,i`l be more than happy to post.

You'll have to use some kind of image editing software to make the picture smaller. This might be Photoshop something or other, Paint Shop Pro or any number of things. Your digital camera probably came with something. Size it to 600 pixels on the longer of the two sides, and you should be good to go.

You sure Heinz didn't spend some time in that pawn shop next to a natural Sabre? :D
