Hi,

I own a Steve Morse model - I am wondering what the recommendations for keeping the guitar/neck in optimal condition? should I use gun-stock oil on the neck once in a while? or can I just play the guitar for 20 years with out doing anything other then keeping the guitar clean?

There is an FAQ on the Ernie Ball website that covers this.

However, I have a 10 year old EVH and a 9 year old Axis, and have never done anything to them, and they play really nice.

Before you play
Wash your hands
When you are finished playing
Wipe it down and put in back in the case
Adjust truss rod when necessary
Rock out

-Change your strings at least once a month.

-Before removing your strings, liberally apply some lemon oil (available at most guitar shops) with a dry, cotton T-shirt. If you need to clean off some dirt build-up, use a tooth brush with some lemon oil on it. Let the lemon oil sit for 15 minutes and wipe it off completely with a dry cotton T-shirt.

-Remove your old strings and put the new ones on.

-Keep your guitar in it's case when your not playing it.

-Keep your hands clean before handling your guitar.

It's that simple.
