If you end up selling your stock pickups, make sure you post it on this board. Many here love them.

Yeah. +1 on advertising them here. Many people think that they are the greatest pickups since...well...the dawn of time. I'm not necessarily one of those people, but I do like them a lot.

USA, for now, but a Brit at heart
Really? I just don't appreciate these pickups for some reason. I am either going to sell the pickups or the whole guitar, or do a swap for a morse or petrucci. Heres a pic of the guitar in case anyone is interested.

What is is about the stock pickups you don't like? You have little to no chance of doing better with any new set if you don't figure that out. What kind of amp you're using and whether it's appropriately voiced for the guitar has a lot to do with it as well.

I guess it's all a matter of personal preference, but I think you couldn't do much better than the stock pickups that are built with the Axis.

I think the thing is with the Axis that the pickups are much more an integral part of the guitar than they are with a lot of the more generic solidbody guitars.
They were specifically designed and voiced to go into the Axis (or at least it's earlier alias).
So if they're not working out for you then maybe you would be better of chopping it in for a Morse or a Petrucci cause after all they're both fine if very different guitars too !
And your Axis is certainly a photogenic little chap. I can't imagine you'd have any shifting it should you decide to do so.;)
Good luck whatever you decide to do.

I recently put a DiMarzio super distortion in the neck position of an axis SS that I had already put a Dimarzio Evolution (bridge model) in the bridge position of.

I actually really liked the combination. but my amp and effects set up is pretty strange so it may not really work for everyone.
