Hey All!
Just returned from two weeks in Northern California. Had the opportunity to do two days of full-on multi-track digital recording with my old band mates with whom I played from 1974-1990. Last year when I was visiting and recording in California I borrowed a friend's F****r Jazz Bass and was not really happy with my tone. This year, the son of another good friend loaned me his SR4 for the sessions. I got the BEST BASS TONE I've ever had on a recording (because I haven't yet had a chance to record with my own SR4s or SR5s). I was so pleased with the presence, punch, and fullness of the recorded bass sound. Why did I take so long to get my Stingrays? They've got the sound I was always looking for. Oh well, better late than never! Here's a pic of my borrowed recording setup in California:
