So i got a new and bigger iPod so I spent a chunk of the weekend ripping a bunch of my CDs to MP3 and it was super fun rediscovering stuff that I havent listened to in a while.

the best of the resurrected is This is Unity Music by Common Rider. Awesome CD, I can't beleive this album went into hiding! Mass is a totally underrated bassist and obviously Jesse Michaels' vocals kick ass.

So you guys ever go thru your collection and find old albums that you fall in love with all over again?

I've spent the last month getting back into Madness; a lot more going on than just "One Step Beyond" and "Our House".

I still maintain that Mark Bedford is one of my Top Ten Bassists!

On a recent road trip, I rediscoverd Rush "Hemispheres". What a friggin' masterpiece. When it first came out, I listened to it many, many times for years...now I remember why.

Been visiting with some classic old Tubes stuff (hey Luscious!) and just got "Young and Rich" on CD.

Prairie Prince is my hero.

Hey Phatty, due to our short discussion on Matt Freeman at the open house I recently dusted off my "And Out Come The Wolves" cassette.Been listening to it for a few weeks straight now in my car. It reminds me of the summer of 1995.I remember when it came out and how excited we(all my my friends and bandmates) were to first listen to it. A Modern Classic..............

Anytime I'm digging through my CD's I end up giving a listen to "Oxygene" by Jean Michel Jarre. Incredible, spacey stuff.. exceptional, especially when you consider that the album came out in 1976. He was really pushing synthesizer technology to its limits at the time.

Steve, try Todd Rundgren's Utopia from 1974.

I saw the "Big Band" Utopia live during their "Mahavishnu" period.

Scary.

Jack,

About 2 years ago I caught Todd Rundgren here in Pittsburgh. He was opening for Hall & Oates. He played and sounded really good.

I'll have to buy that disc you mentioned.

I recently dusted off the first UFO record I ever bought, after I saw them on "Don Kirchners Rock Concert" back in the 70's. The album is called "Force It" and opens with Michael Schenker absolutely ripping through the song Let it Roll.

Great stuff! I actually landed one of my first long-term band gigs (in my second year of playing; a chance jam) with the 'Strangers In The Night' version of 'Lights Out In London'...finger picked! They had just picked a bass player that week...it was supposed to be their first rehearsal that evening.

That fell through...for him. I'd feel bad about that sort of thing now, but not back in the day. Getting into a good band when you're only 18, and reaping the 'benefits' that went along with it were a cut-throat business...even among friends!

Good times! :D

+1
And Out Come The Wolves is easily in my all time top 5 list. You know a CD is awesome when you have a new favorite song off it every other day .... for 8 months :)
