Hi guys !

I just came back from a killer deal : a 2005 Musicman Luke in Black sparkle for 650 bucks !
Of course, there is a problem, the paint is flaking off, i mean completely. Every time i take it, chunks of finish fall off...

So i gave it to a shop to refinish it, it's already sanded and primered, but i didn't choose the color now ! As a fan of Steve Lukather, i really dig the Axe he was playing in the Falling in Between DVD, here it is (sorry, only picture i found)..

Anyone has the color name ? Or any paint reference that look like this?

Coming with updates soon !

I am pretty sure that color is Dargie Delight. I believe it was a limited run of that color.

Cheers,

Dargie Delight I. Limited run inspired by the forum, delivered in the 2006-2007 timeframe. The 'I' was not color changing, and had martini glass inlays.

Like Mike said looks like a Dargie Delight I. The actual color name I believe was Martini Olive Green, if it is a Dargie Delight II then the cold was Carmel Apple Green I believe, I could be wrong on both but my man cave is painted in Martini Olive Green:)

Yeah - he mentioned the Falling In Between DVD, which was released in 2007. According to my (many times failing) memory, that's when he was using his DD1.

That was the color i was looking for ! The dargie ! I decided to go with that color on the refinish, that looks really nice. The painter will have to sort a paint for me...

Yes, it is indeed a Dargie Delight I with the Martini Glass inlays. He used in it drop D tuning for that tour (he used it on "falling in between" and "king of the world"). I was at that gig too (Paris Zenith March 2007) which was more than awesome. One of the best performances I have ever witnessed by anyone ever.

There is a section at the end of the DVD where he shows off his guitars. In fact here it is...

I remember watching that rig tour and thinking 'Cool! I have both a DD1 Luke and a sparkle back BFR, just like him'. I felt like a third grader with new toys from my favorite movie. :D
