Refinishing JP6?

I've been looking for an Emerald Green or some similarly lushy green finish for years and I've had no luck. I have a Stealth Black one that I like playing very much and I don't reeeaaally need another JP, so I figured I'd take the one that's a great player already and also make it look good (for me). There's a professional refinish shop locally who gave me a quote for the finish I'm looking for and I'm thinking of giving it a shot. Anyone else refinish their JP's or know someone who's gone through a similar experience with pointers for me? Thanks in advance!

My 2nd Silhouette Special is at the painters now (first one was refinished last year). Love both of them since they sound great, but I wanted a different colour than what they were originally painted.

I didn’t consider resale value since mine aren’t highly collectable to begin with and won’t put my kids through university if I sell them.

It's yours. Do what you want to it. Refinishing a guitar is no different than painting a room in your house a different color. It's a personal thing and only you know what's right for you.

Thanks for the input, seems like I have little to worry about. I've sold this JP6 before and I was reaaaaaaaaaally fortunate to have been able to buy back, so resale value is a non-issue for me!

Related question. I went to the shop and they showed me their green metallic finish, which looked great but it didn't match the MM emerald green. Is there any information on the color palette codes used by Music Man?

Can the paint shop colour match the Emerald Green you’re hoping for? Did/could you bring in an image of the MM green metallic for them to look at? Not sure if EBMM gives out colour codes for their custom colours.

I’d say don’t spend money on a colour you don’t really want.

Not sure about that exact color, but in the past, EBMM have used paint from House of Kolor. See if any of the colors match what you're looking for. These paints are pricey, but maybe your shop may be able to get it wholesale.

Oh yes, they're fine with matching but they want to know if there's a specific palette/code available to take out any guess work. Not many Emerald Green EBMMs laying around in shops in my side of the woods...

Thanks, they sure have a ton of different colors. Might be able to zero into one that matches what EBMM uses.
