There seems to be an argument here for not advancing technology. When did we decide the cut-off was? (As BP's fond of saying, for most guitar players, it was the 1950s.)

Battery technology is advancing like crazy, but we're assuming we'll all have 9V batteries for guitars & pedals in 20 years? Most of us still play tube (TUBE!) amps. You get my drift.

To me, it doesn't really matter what's in the guts of the GC. Despite the fact that you can access presets through the web interface, USB, etc., it's still a black box that you control from the guitar itself. It's a better control mechanism that doesn't require any additional technology, other than the knobs and switches on the guitar. If you still have the guitar in 20 years, you'll still have the knobs and switches on the front.

The Reflex wasn't a big seller, so it's not sticking around. If you like the guitar (which I happen to), then you can get the same guitar with better switching in the form of the GC. (I grant you, there aren't colour options at the moment, but that can change.)

I'd really love to see this technology as an option on other models in the future, so I'm crossing my fingers for the day I can order it on something else.

Well you can be with Beej on that one, that's perfectly fine with me. I guess I'm not the only one feeling this way.

Well of course everyone is entitled to their opinion, and thank goodness we don't all want the same things. That's what makes life interesting, and keeps the market full of different choices.

Remember, Gibson quit making the Les Paul until Jimi Page started playing them live. Now the masses can't get enough. I know dudes who can't hardly play who've dropped thousands on Les Paul customs. Why? They bring them to me to set up for them or fix them. I can't hardly believe it when I hear them playing them!

All us cool kids need to make the Reflex the killer guitar that isn't made any more. Then people will be clamoring for it!

I absolutely LOVE mine. Both of them.

It's actually really simple. If you can set up your forum profile with images and a signature, you can handle it! :)
This is soooo true. I can't figure out how to post a picture to this board but I got my GC dialed in. It's a piece of cake.
