So I know that the finish for the Reflex (as well as most models) is listed as High Gloss Polyester, but I personally don't have a great sense of what that actually means. I played a black Reflex at a Guitar Center once and the finish on the body of the bass wasn't so "shiny" but more of a matte black. The one thing I can compare it to off the top of my head is the finish on the older white and black Mac Books. In the Game Changer videos, the finish on the black Reflex do look particularly shiny. So I guess my question is whether it is a very glossy, shiny finish on the bass or not, and if so, what's the deal with the one I saw at Guitar Center? Thanks.

My 25th is very shiny. I think the Reflex at GC was probably just a bit smudged up. This clear coat should be shiny, and very similiar to the same clear coat that they use on all basses except the Stealth finishes (which is matte black).

Can't be stealth. That is not an option for Reflex. Then again, there might be a GC run of stealth Reflexes...

Oh no... No they didn't! GAS!

It wasn't stealth because the pick-ups were normal looking. Oh well, maybe I'm just crazy.

Well, Black High Gloss Polyester finish is much more sensitive to fingerprints than other (lighter) colors in High Gloss!

I have Black Cherry Burst Sterling and at the edges of the body Cherry color exceeds into the Black, so I must clean bass body surface after every gig to avoid accumulation of fingerprints, ...otherwise I could get matte looking surface!

That's one of the reasons why I decided for a White reflex bass! ;)

Yeah I sort of wanted to get something different than black for that exact reason, but TGC only comes in black so far and I'm too impatient to wait for more finishes ha ha. I actually really like how the black looks, so I'll get over the finger print thing.

Black is a very safe color if you play music for a living, plus it goes with everything.
