I've been busy this summer, just getting around to checking out the forums again. I noticed the new Reflex, looks good, caused G.A.S.! Seems like the Anniversary Basses in new colors? I ususally go with the "H" models, but the "H,S,S" has me intrigued! I like the white with the black binding............Maybe I need a new bass?! ;)

Does anybody here have one? If so, what pick-up configuration? Thanks!

H-S-S!!!

You have the H if you want it but also have the S-S for options.

My 25th (Reflex special) is the bomb for tonal options.

I love my HSS the rear humbucker with the center single coil is killer. The two S's together are deep and rich and buttery smooth.

The HH is called the Monster Truck... this is probably for a reason. This config can be used with a coil from each H too. This bridge H is more forward than the H on the HSS.

The single H Reflex has also been praised highly. This H is in the sweet spot. I'm not sure whether it is farther forward than the HH but it might be. This H can be placed in series or parallel and in active or passive. If you like the single H tone this is the most versatile single H there is (tied with the Big Al).

These humbuckers are ceramic, hot and aggressive. The single coils are neodymium and rich and smooth.

All models still have the Mahogany tone block for depth and clarity.

The Reflex retained basically all the awesome sound of the 25th just no fancy top or inlays.

You will be very pleased with whatever config you choose.

AFAIK (and I looked that up before getting my 25th HH) the bridge H is at exactly the same position and with the same switching possibilities. For me there's no reason to not get the HH except if you need the neck space for slapping (it's a bit tight up there for my sloppy technique).

Plus I think the HH not only sounds like a "Monster Truck", it also looks like one :D

Yeah, I know................

The reflex with a roasted neck, yowser!

I have it narrowed down to................

-Reflex 4 HH Roasted Maple Neck

-Sting Ray 4 HS Roasted Maple Neck

-Bongo 4 H Roasted Maple Neck

The Reflex is appealing due to the fact that I don't actually own one of those yet, but the Sting Ray is a sentimental favorite!! I also think the Bongo with a figured wood neck would be awesome.............Only one Bass this time!! ;)

i am a studio musician in nashville. i work on as many rock and pop sessions, if not more, than country sessions. i play absolutely every day, and i can tell you that out of my current arsenal (4h stingray classic, 4h stingray classic (flats), 4hh reflex, 6h bongo, 2 vintage jazz's, vintage pbass, vintage hofner, duesenberg starplayer 2 hollowbody, vintage jerry jones longhorn, vintage hollowbody 60's epiphone, and probably a couple i forgot) the reflex is used 95% of the time. i simply cant get away from that inner coil tone that bp hipped me to. its the fattest, punchiest, warmest sh!t i ever heard in my life. and they did it whilst keeping the bridge h in the sweetspot.

Yeah, nice to hear about that! :)

Well, I'm back from vacation and I already visited my EBMM dealer to ask for order a reflex!

I'd go for a 5 banger with single H configuration, asked for white with maple fret board option and now waiting for price offer!

I hope that single H is at the sweetspot position too (of course)?

If order starts this days, it could be mine around the Christmas time, well I hope so! ;)

P.S. ...I hope my post card is on the way to S.L.O., or it's even there already! :)

the roasted neck is a new treatment being offered that gives more strength and a darker color. the old neck is plenty strong though. i have not played the roasted necks so maybe someone who has heard them can speak for the tone difference if there is one.

Oh, thanks guys, I've checked this Roasted necks Thread and that's awesome feature indeed!

Now I must check with my dealer about that for the reflex!

I think roasted with ebony on white reflex could look fantastic, but ebony FB is not in official offer for the reflex basses?

What do You think guys, how much more (in percent) could cost such a combination, 10%, 20%, ...30% more...???

I'm very limited with money right now after house interior redecoration, but few bucks more for such a great feature I could affod, well I must ask my wife for sure! :D
