Got a couple of questions for BP, Dargin, and CS. Is the Reflex neck only available with the headstock painted at the moment? If so, will there every be an option for a natural finished headstock?

In the meantime, I can't wait to see my roasted maple Reflex when it gets here! I keep going to GC to play the 25th they have in stock anticipating the arrival of my new axe. These instruments sound amazing!

Hi Bass Control,

I don't know the answers to Your questions, but I would like to ask one:

what fret board comes with Your incoming BFR roasted reflex?

P.S. ...and yes, as You guys can see, I began to write word "reflex" with small letter "r", like it should be according to the official reflex logo! ;)

All roasteds are ebony boards.

What about that Mystic JP from the skinny side that we saw the pictures of (owned by fingbeagles, i think)... i'm pretty sure that was a rosewood board (and a friggin' awesome one at that!). Was there something different or more special about that particular instrument or am I just cracked and it really was an ebony board on that one?

That was a special one with a rosewood board done for Guitar Center that was sold to Fingbeagles at the (Houston?) Guitar Show. The production roasted maples will have ebony boards and BFR inlays.

I'm sorry, when I said "all" what I meant to say was "all roasteds (for us mortals) except for one offs, show pieces, prototypes and artist's instruments" :D

Still wondering about my original questions. Is MM planning on offering the non-matching option on the Reflex instruments? I spied a few in those GC videos and was wondering about the availability on future Reflexes.

I have never been a fan of matching headstocks. They always reminded me of someone that matched their shirt with their shoes... Think 80's prom band.

Syc, I think matching headstocks look great, too. It's just a personal thing with me. With the exception of my two Bongo 6s, all of my MMs have had natty headstocks. The Sterling 5 I had was ordered with the MHS, but didn't arrive as such, but I loved the way that it looks. I'm just curious if they've made nattys an option because I would love a Sunburst Reflex with a maple board and natty headstock. I think it would look equally awesome as one with a MHS.

I don't like matching headstocks with maple fretboards in most cases. There are some definite exceptions. But, if I were to get a sunburst Reflex with a maple fretboard, I would want it to have a headstock that matched the fingerboard and not the body.

Not that I can afford a new bass right now with a baby in the house, so I certainly don't expect them to open up options on my wishlist. :D

I agree, a maple fretboard with a sunburst headstock is over the top. Unless it is on a bongo.

If I could help it I always get matching HS. To me it completes the look.

Agree, matching headstock 90% of the time, Just can be a bit over kill sometimes, like a bright colour against a maple board, an defiantly not a fan of burst headstock's on anything.
But at the same time Sunburst is one of my all time favorites !
