Reflex Neck Question................

Since I will probably not find a Reflex Bass on display in my area..............I was wondering how you would compare the "feel" of the 4 string Reflex neck. Is it more like the Stingray 4, or the Bongo 4? I would imagine that it is not like a Sterling or a SLO neck, since it has a 1 5/8" nut width...........Thanks!

The Bongo kinda, the nut is the same as an SR but it is 1/16th wider at the last fret. Looking at your group I'd highly recommend an HSS. Lots of new tonal options. And the passive tones are unbelievable, especially the with the singles.

I could compare only for 5 strings versions of Sterling & Reflex!

I have a feeling that Reflex 5 have a little bit wider and thinner neck, especially after 12th fret, in relation to Sterling 5!

But difference is so minimal that is barely noticeable!

Anyway, I find Reflex a little bit more versatile than Sterling!

You mean, with two frets less?

Yeah, Reflex should have "Bongo's neck" with 22 frets (Bongo got 24 frets) and it's unfinished (Bongo got paint job on)!

For what ever reason, I prefer the Bongo 5 string neck more than the 4 string version. It's kind of odd, since I play mostly 4 string basses. If the Reflex 4 would be the same neck as the Bongo 4, I would probably opt for the Reflex in a 5 string version. I think you may have helped spare me from making a costly G.A.S. mistake!!

The Reflex have the sime neck as the Bongo...the only diferent thing is that Bongo have 24 frets...but the unfinished feel of the neck is great! go for it...

the neck on a 4 string reflex feels as close as you get to perfection. like the best of the jazz and the best of the p all combined into one. not something one can explain really, but i digg it like a 2 ton heavy thing. i have never really thought of a bass in terms of this part and or that part. it either speaks to me as a whole, or it dont. i have never played a reflex that didnt feel like home.

The Reflex is also an awesome 5er if that's your preference.... and yes the one in the FS thread has a wicked awesome top.
