My Reflex just arrived - completing my little rig re-jig that I began sometime early last year.

I sold a stingray off a couple of years ago (having not the same EQing skills I now possess), but after seeing the white reflex 5 on the musicman products page, I had to put a BALL back in the stable.

Love the fit and finish and am very surprised how light it is - compared to my old stingray.

Lovin the onboard eq. My fave so far is Passive, Series, Middle Coils (so all buttons up!) with tone all the way up.

I love the fact that it seems to not have quite the same treble presence as the stingray. Although I would now love to add a classic 4 string to the family.

I remember thinking that it would be great if the Reflex were offered in some crazy color schemes, but every time I see a white one I wonder what the hell I was thinking.

Sweet bass.

Thanks guys!

I like the GK cabs, love the TC head - but that bass is on another level. Just so damned full sounding. At first I was worried that all the buttons and knobs would be off-putting. But the more I play it, the more I am intuitively knowing where to go, what to press etc. Although - at the moment I don't stray far from the middle coils.

I am in awe of the vision of this company - that they are so far into the game - yet still innovating - creating new and beautiful instruments.

+1. The white looks absolutely knockout on the Reflex.

Sure it looks!

That's why I ordered white one too, ...mine will be even more white, 'cause of maple board!

Can't wait mine to arrive, it's just matter of days now! ;)

Congrats Bro! :)

P.S. ...the new Reflex age is began! :p

Man, ...how good it looks in Your hands, ...wonderful! :)

Now I'm starting to be nervous, 'can't wait mine to arrive!

Please write something about tone, preamp, versatility ...etc.

Tone is full.

Very versatile. I'm guessing you've watched Ed Friedland's 25th review on youtube. That quite nicely shows the 16 or so combinations that are available.

What that you can't hear so well on the video is how big the difference is between the series and parrallel modes.

Hard for me to sum up. Parallel is so much 'clearer' with slightly more zingy highs. Series has a lot more growl. To my ear.

Mine currently stays in series, with me keeping the dynamics under control with my technique.

Love this bass.

Surprisingly - the back H alone doesn't really sound like a 'ray to me.

The preamp is really smooth. I prefer to make adjustments on my bass than on my TC Classic amp. The bass eq point seems to be at just the right spot. But it still remains flat when I play in active mode.

Had my first chance to put the low B to good, loud use this morning. Hitting the low D or B was a completely different experience than with my MIA 7ender Jazz. On that bass I always had to anticipate a small reduction in volume on the note, as well as sustain. Not so with the reflex. Real deep, real loud powerful tone.
