Hi guys,

Just wanted to run this by you. I've noticed a strange humm/noise issue with my Reflex.

I was recording something with a fairly high gain tone through my Kemper, so some kind of humm is to be expected. Kempers noise gate easily takes care of that problem - for the most part.

However, if I turn down the volume on the guitar - even just ever so slightly - I get a crazy amount of humm. Turn the volume back up to full and the humm is gone again.

We're talking so slight adjustments to the volume that I don't think it could possible be a noise gate threshold thing.

Any ideas? Could there be a problem with the volume pot? Anyone tried something similar?

Cheers,
Kasper

If the volume pot otherwise works correctly, e.g. at lower gain or clean tones, I'd tend to think it's not faulty. Could be e.g. a funky solder joint? Test with different cables, try adding and removing pedals from the effects chain, if you're plugged directly into the Kemper, try adding a non-true bypass pedal as a buffer first, etc. If it is the pot, at least that's a cheap and easy fix but try to eliminate the other possibilities first.
