To all the good folks at EBMM and fellow forum members:

IMHO, the Reflex has raised the bar on electric guitar design. The guitar is alive; it sings, and I think the way it is chambered has a lot to do with that. Put that together with the wiring options for its pickups, an awesome tone control, and the end result is a guitar that sits well in many styles of music.

It's a joy to play, and has such nuanced character. I responds to variations in playing style. I am really impressed. I just realized (as I was typing) that I bought mine 4 months ago to the day as kind of an impulse purchase. No regrets here. It's one of the best gear purchases I ever made.

If any of you are considering this guitar, go and try it out. I am certain that the more you play it, the more you will find it to be a versatile guitar.

Have a great day, folks.

I love, love, love, love love, love, love my 25th.

It does SO many things SO well its actually kind of mind boggling. It's mind boggling because electric guitars have always been about compromises niches. But honestly, this guitar does everything I'd ever want an HH guitar to do.

I really can't think of anything else I need besides SSS or MM90's. The Reflex just does HH so well! :D

I couldn't agree more.

Though I plan to purchase other guitars, I cannot see any of them trumping my 25th.
It's my favourite EBMM neck as well.

Awesome post, Marc! I have a 25th and I agree it is an amazing design in terms of tone, versatility, and playability. One of my best purchases too. Many utils and lots of consumer surplus on my part. As you know, I can relate to the A+ reference!

We need Sterling to chime in on the producer surplus! In fact, we ought to get him to co-author some papers on the music industry. Do I feel a sabbatical app coming on? :D

I think that the 25th/Reflex are amazing. That being said, I think that the great variety available within the EBMM product line has other great models that make me stray away from the 25th, but if I had to pare down my collection the 25th would be one of the ones to stay. Hopefully, I'll never have to do that.

25th/Reflex is a fantastic guitar, elbow issues initially caused me to sell my 25ths but great doctor cured that and I ended up with a killer Reflex, unlimited tones, glad you are enjoying yours Marc:cool:

Mr.X you have a good friend (who's name I won't mention) that has a Silhouette. That is the same neck as your 25th

Colin,

It is my understanding that the neck of the 25th was based off of that of the Silhouette, but is not the exact same neck.
The 25th neck is slightly wider and the difference is noticeable.

According to the Music Man web site, the neck widths are the same.

There is a substantial difference, however, in that the 25th has a 12" radius. Could that be why you're thinking it's slightly wider?

also the Silhouette has 24 frets whereas the Reflex has 22. Inspired by the silo is more accurate

radius means that if you drew a circle based on the fretboard's curvature, the circle would be 12" in diameter. it means it's reasonably flat neck.
