Havn't been playing a lot lately, work, personal stuff blah blah blah, but I took my Bongo 5HH over to my Dad's house to check it out through his new Amp--Fender Bassman 300 Pro with Eden 4x10 & Mesa 1x15 cabs. Left amp flat, tuned down the hi & low mids & treble on Bongo, boosted the lows just a tad, this thing kicked some serious ass playing the Reggae tunes I play. Always used J in the past, well just because, but now, I think it's time to de-tune the J & put it away for safe keeping. BONGO MANIA

Anyone else use a Bongo for a lot of Reggae? If so, your opinions.

It sounds awesome for dub too. Lean on the neck pickup with your mids at zero, treble at 1 and bass all the way up.

Oh, and consider flatwounds ;)

I play Marley's Stir It Up on my Bongo5 and Ampeg rig and it sounds great.

Lots of bass and almost no mids or treble on the Bongo is my secret.

I am a serious fan of Reggae. I go to Jamaica every chance I get, my profile name is MOBAY45 (Mobay is Montego Bay) and I love almost everything Reggae.

Now, if I could only talk my band into playing some ska or reggae tunes......

A set of fake dreadlocks under your singer's cowboy hat would look cool while playing some Marley or Peter Tosh!;) :D

Ease them into reggae with I Shot the Sheriff. Just tell them it is a Clapton song.;)

I just love Reggae.....can't you guess?

Favourite Reggae/SKA bass lines must be with 'The Specials'.

'Ghost Town' & 'Too much too young' separate the men from the boyz!

I know Jerry Dammers' sister. She knows I'm a fan and did the nicest thing. She got me a Specials CD for Christmas and had Jerry autograph it. I cherish that disc.
