I just heard from a gent who says he's been able to remove the cover from a SR5 pickup for a swap. Removal involves cutting a glue line and gently pressing the cover off.

My SR5 was used, so there's no warranty issues involved.

Advice or comments? Jon?

I have never done it, but the cover is held on by silicon, so I guess it's possible, but if you do it, and mess up the pickup, I don't wanna hear about it :D

Nope. Unlike the SR4 pickups, the SR5s are a "unit" and aren't really designed to make it easy to change the covers.

OK, I think I'll call Customer Service Monday first to see how much it would cost to exchange the pickup if I bugger it up...

I am not positive, so call customer service, but I think the price is $125.
