so when i did an inspection why my pickup selector is stiffer to switch compared to the piezo one. i noticed that it's rusted. idk what caused this. but what's the best way to fix this issue?

That's tough- they're sealed, so it's not as simple as spraying contact cleaner in pot or lever switch. (Still you could try ... Deoxit is the one to use.)

Or, just replace it. MM will sell you the part (or you can get it elsewhere), and you have to do a bit of soldering. Depending on what part of TO you're in, you could probably find a local shop to do it too.

Is the rust just on the outside? Or it is down where the pivot is?

Did something spill in there possibly? Usually it's very rare to see corrosion on those, as they are plated.
