Hi everyone

Does any one know how to remove the tremelo arm out of a EBMM axis?

Ive tried unscrewing the little bolt with an allen key but the arm just wont come out, the arm is pretty loose as I am able to turn it a full circle with no effort. It doesn't seem to be a screw-in-screw-out type like in Fenders etc,
No idea how to do it, so Ive never put it back in its case (kinda hard to do ;-)

It fits in the Musicman case without trem arm removal (as do all EBMM guitars). Lay it in the case and pluk a string....then close the case. If there were any pressure on the arm, you'd hear the tone change. I've tested my Axis, ASS and Sub 1 and now leave the arm on them all when they go in the case. Less chance of accident with an arm floating around inside the case. I've never actually taken the arm off the axis.....only know theres some kind of fastener holding it from the back.

Oh ok, yes I tried that, but it feels like theres a little pressure, Ive also tried strumming it and then closing the case but that dont work because as soon I can strum and close it the fluffy material part of the interior mutes the strings at the neck

Also forget to add that I have a G & G case, I dont think theyre the original cases

as far as I saw the interior of the EBMM case and heard opinions here on the forum, there is no need to remove the tremolo arm.
can you guys confirm that?
I have a JP and never remove the trem arm and keep it all the time in case while not playing it.

If the case is fitted properly, the trem arm should not need to be removed.

If you really need to take it off though you will need to remove the large plate in the center of the back, which is the access to the trem and spring cavity. There is a hex screw that holds the trem arm system together in there....you can remove it and/or adjust the tension of the arms swing with that screw.

If it's not the original case then No! It wont fit! Music Man has the case made purposely for this application. You would have to take the back plate off and unscrew the bolt/hex screw thats holding it in.

I would invest into a new Musicman Case......

I dont know what the original case looks like, got a pic?
Mines the typical long rectangular shape, not like those contoured guitar shaped cases, either way I dont know what an original EBBM axis case is
or looks like

enough case talk! pullback trem cover(the big square one) and theres an allen key that is screwed from insideto end of bar arm~ back it out and it'll fall off in your hand the little screw you were using is for tension adjustment to allow arm to float or be steady, owning 15 I have a pretty good idea how they work!

i was gonna say the same thing as shredderbetter. on a side note i find that tension allen screw worthless. yes it will hold the bar if thats what you want. i take all mine out and still back off the allen screw in the trem cavity so my arms spin freely.
