For no better reason than it is something to do, I am thinking about buying a set of good aftermarket "boutique" pickups for my JP6. I have a bunch of other guitars and some have really benefited from upgraded pups (the PRS for instance - but then PRS makes some pretty poor pickups IMHO), but others I haven't seen a huge difference - the LP didn't seem to change much. The biggest difference was the 335. The Holmes pickups are amazing. They have gone up so much in price they better be, but I got the guitar with them on there, so I can't complain too much.
So on the JP6 I am thinking Bardens. I haven't ever used them and I have heard really good things. Anybody else have any experience with changing their pickups on a JP6? If so what did you use, and are you happy with the change?
