The stock pickups are not hot enough for me, so I want to switch them out. I already put a Norton in the bridge, but it does not balance with the stock neck pickup. So, with what I have laying around, I was thinking of putting an Evo2 into the bridge instead, and putting a PAF Pro into the neck (I'd be taking the PAF Pro out of the bridge of another guitar and putting the Norton into it). I think this should work out nicely.

Opinions or suggestions from those who have gone with hotter pickups in their Silos? Or from anyone who likes giving advice? :)

Depends?? The Norton in the bridge is "already" a nice score in that guitar, why mess with that.

Why not a PAF Pro in the neck (it can be a neck pickup too)? There are quite a few Dimarzios that would fit nicely in the neck (volume wise etc...).

I am putting the PAF Pro in the neck, maybe my post was a bit convoluted :). Anyway, the guitar that I am taking the PAF Pro out of has a P90 in the neck and I don't think the Evo2 would work well in that guitar, so that's why I am putting the Norton in there and the Evo2 into the EBMM. I've got the EBMM set up now with the PAF Pro in the neck and the Evo2 in the bridge and it sounds pretty good.

One thing that I noticed is that the PAF Pro is F spaced and it lines up perfectly in neck position but the F spaced Evo2 in the bridge is a bit narrow for the string spacing.

I'm thinking of putting an illuminator in the bridge of my silhouette floyd. The PAF 36 is just too soft for me especially next to my JPBFR and Axis.

Hi Grimm,

I had a PAF 36 bridge in my Silo spec. for a few months and was really liking it. But then I put some hours on my AL HH and Fell in love with these higher Output custom EBMM Dimarzios.
Thus I decided to put a AT-1 at the bridge. I couldn't be happier now! Such agreat pickup!

How about a humbucker sized P90. I have some Fralin's on my ASS and they really snarl.

Just installed a EVO2 in the bridge, INJECTOR NECK in the middle position, and a EVOLUTION NECK in the neck position of my silo20. Wow what a setup from my paf pros. I used a tone buster super 5 way, 500k pots from fender because capacitor is included. Ordered all wire from newmark, as well as the molex connector kit.

That sounds like a potent combination. Can you post a pic, please?
