I have seen pics of Steve Morse's actual guitars (Not the Y2Ds). Some had had pickups replaced. I have seen the cream bobbins. Anyone know what he replaces his sig pickups with?
the only time i have seen something new with the pickups were in that DVD live encounters where one side of the humbucker is white or cream.

but i dont know of him replacing his signature pickups
Why would he replace any of his sig pickups with sig pickups with different colored bobbins? that doesn't make sense to me.

In most of the interviews I've seen or read concerning Steve, the guitar is viewed as a tool so it would not surprise me to see him slap something different, pickup-wise, in one of his guitars.
There could be a million reasons why and whose to say the replacement ones aren't his sig models?
With the amount of travel an gigs he does, damage may come into play and he needs something ASAP.
