Alright, my Silo Special has developed a crack near the low E's groove. I know it is a matter of when it breaks (certainly at a gig) not if. So, does anyone have the specs on replacing it? Curved bottom or straight? I was thinking of going to something like Tusq or black graphite...anyone have any ideas if it is a standard size/spacing?

Depends on the type of nut and possibly on the year of the guitar. Email customer service with your problem and the guitar's serial number and they'll tell you what's what for your guitar. If it's a compensated nut, you'll have to order from them anyway.

I had the same thing happen on my 2001 silsp...snagged the nut while string changing..there went the low E..I replaced it with the Graphtec nut and it has been flawless...actually changed the bridge saddles to Graphtec as well..they make a good product..can*t remember the numbers, but they will help you find out.Good luck.

Yes, mine is a 2001 Silo Sp too. It is just the plastic nut. I have already changed the saddles to Graph-Tech, I was just wondering if anyone might know the details of the nut, so if I decide to go graphite, I know what to get.
