Help! Replacing Stingray control plate

Looking for options to change the vol/tone plate on the Stingray.
Ideally I want to do a Dustin Kensrue type thing With a single stacked pot.
I'd be happy plugging the current volume hole and moving the stack to the tone position.
Or even finding a plate that has just one hole set further back.

Anyone doing this?
Or have suggestions how to do this without leaving a big hole where the volume is now when i move it?

I've seen the hole plugged before and it doesn't look that bad, it also gives you the change to replace everything to like original if you ever wanted too. The plate, I'm guessing EBMM won't sell you one, but it never hurt to ask. You could also have machine shop make one for you using your current one to take measurements from.

I like the Dustin Kesrue setup on the Stingray as well.

I had the same thought when I was hemming and hawing between a stingray and a valentine last year. I’m thinking maybe I’ll buy a used 2016 model next year and have a bit of fun customising it and try and replicate one of Dustin’s other guitars - I like his buttercream one

I did this a little while back with a 2016 stingray. It worked out pretty well. EBMM customer service wouldn't sell me a Dustin Kensrue control plate, but this was before the Kensrue model officially came out so maybe it's different now. They did provide me with a wiring diagram which was very helpful.

I jumped some wires off the circuit board that comes with the guitar to save myself from buying all new components, but I recommend just rewiring the guitar if you can. That way you can completely return it to stock if you want to sell it / change your mind. The pots are soldered directly onto the board and get damaged removing them.

The volume knob placement originally drove me nuts and the guitar was way more fun to play with the stacked knob. I think it really depends on whether or not you primarily play lead or rhythm guitar, and how far your right hand moves while strumming.

Sorry I didn't get back to you! I used a CTS 500K/500K solid shaft stacked pot (EP-4586-000) and a concentric stacked Fender knob (MK-0137-010).
