Hello guys,
I just recently got my DDII JP6 BFR back from Pete here on the boards, he switched the bridge/tuners/and upper piezo switch out with his JPX black hardware however. My questions is can these items be bought seperately and then it would be a simple swap for the original chrome hardware? Also the Dimarzio pickups are the black JPX ones, does Dimarzio have the poles/strip in chrome to replace or will it have to be an entire pickup swap? I love the guitar and these are merely cosmetic issues, but I definitely want at least bridge/switch back to the chrome hardware eventually as I still like the shine compared to black hardware. Sorry for long post but thanks for your time guys.

You will not be able to buy the hardware and it will require a pickup swap to go back to chrome poles and you should have been told that by the seller. Some guys thought his swap was great, but he reduced the value of your guitar. Your only hope is finding someone that wants the black hardware. Good news is a lot of guys do. I would post in the classifieds that you want to swap. The pickups and switch are going to require soldering.

Thank you Yellow, I've done pickups in the past so that shouldn't be bad, I'lp just wait for someone willing to swap rest out then

I'd really like to see what it looks like. I'm sure there are buyers out there who will prefer your current hardware scheme.

Wow ... I do too. Looks great with black.

And to reiterate to JPetrucci07- the proprietary parts (bridge) aren't available aftermarket, so if you want to switch back you'd have to find somebody willing to swap with you.

I agree that it does look better with the black hardware. That one chrome switch would drive me bonkers though. I would leave it with the black. I bet CS would sell you a toggle switch.

I think I will keep the black hardware as well, it does match good, took a while to get used to just because I always have had chrome with all my EBMM products. Just have to replace the one preamp toggle to black in the future and I will be all set. I really love this paint so much, shame its so rare.

Recently saw a dargie BFR and a JPX with the hardware swapped. Both looked amazing! Way cooler than normal...
