I got the EVH floyd rose back from my friend last night. It looks much better. The hinged parts were not a problem at all, they still move freely. Some of the blocks that hold the strings in place wouldn't come out so I left them in. They still work also. I'm actually glad that the guy selling the EVH trem on eBay didn't respond to my mails.
So if anyone is thinking of replating a rose, do it. Just be sure to get all the corroded bits sanded really smooth before you take it in to be plated.
