Hi,
Just wanted to say a real BIG thank you to all at EB for making the ol' missing Stingray mutes available as a spare part, for us old timers.
Really appreciate it.
But when I ordered mine, i was blown away by the price . . .
I'd been waiting many years to get hold of some, and to be honest,
i would have paid whatever they asked of me just to finally get some.
The bottom line? . . . $17 !!

Thanks for making them available, and for not taking what mnany other firms would have seen as a great opportunity to milk the customer.
I really dont know how they can be made so cheaply,
but thank you, thank you :)

Do they make 5 string sets?

They only work if you have the old mute bridge ('76-'95 StingRay and Sterling) or the new Classic series bass.

The price for the EB replacement set is great. The last time I bought a vintage original set with thumbscrews cost me about 50 bucks. But if someone is a stickler for the original dimension of the preEB thumbscrew heads, they are different size. But as far as function, the replacements fit and function just as they should, although the pads are taller and you'll probably have to trim them down.

Are they only available es complete kits with the mutes, spring plate and screws or can the mute pads be ordered as well? Because all I'm missing is a single pad on an otherwise mint assembly.

Dargin would it be possible to get a set of the thumb screws? Colin sent me a vintage mute set but I don't have the thumb screws. This is for the second, under the EBMM badge, left hand StingRay built, yes, I have it! It has the transitional bridge. I'd love to go all the way with her! (With the mutes, Craig)

I can't quite get enough pressure out of the mute on my classic, want it to REALLY strangle the low strings, any advice?

I read through this thread and it's still kinda muddy where these kits might be available. I googled Music Meyer and came up with Meyer Music which, looking at the site, seems pretty unlikely (I shot them an email anyway). Anyone?
