Received Lukes new CD today, wow !

I preordered my copy direct with Frontiers Records a while back and it arrived this morning with a load pf PR stuff, how cool is that ! Think i'll be preordering stuff direct from Frontier a lot more in future, the priority release date is not till 22nd Feb , and I get it on the 8th Feb...cool !

Been listening to it all morning, the guy is pure genius, the album is so diverse and im glad to report the MusicMan Luke guitars sing through the mix, clear as a bell. A couple of songs have these smooth, laid back vibes to them and all of a sudden, Luke kicks in with these killer, heavy Rock riffs, you will be amazed. He even plays a voice box guitar solo on a track which had me smilin' and shakin my head at how unexpectedly surprising it was. The last track on the CD is called "The Truth" and is one of the most soulful, instrumental guitar tracks ive heard in ages, he gets this Gary Moore/Brian May type guitar sound but with Lukes soulful touch all over it, schweeeet. I think even people who arent into Toto will love this CD, a definite master at work, there are so many different guitar sounds he gets also, and all with his trusty Luke guitar, yeah, its so fresh to listen to something so good musically in a world of no hit wonders and Bone Idol clones !

On the PR stuff, there is an interview with the man himself and he's gonna be on the road over the next 2 years doing songs from all his vocal CD's, some obscure Toto stuff which he wrote and sang on as well as some other songs or covers by other musicians and some jamming too. Me thinks i'll be going to more than one gig guys ! Ha ha ha, waiting now to see when n' where he will be gigging in the UK to book some tickets for me n' the boys, really cant wait.

What would be the quickest way to get this living in the states? Anyone have a source other than the usual?

Back in the day when i was in the biz, new Albums (CD's) would have showcases and meet n greet release parties by special only invite.

Wonder if Lucious would give us forumites a play by play of the tracks here?

Thanks alot guys

Wow, *I* dont have a copy of my own record! hahaha
Thanks for all the kind words. I worked Hard on this one!
Thats the Music Man guitars on the whole record. It does show the versatility of these amazing guitars and I am honored to be a part of this family, and they ARE my family and best friends.
I did break out old vintage amps. No rack stuff at all. Old Vox AC-30, an little Gibson amp that sang, Old marshalls, a Magnatone, Supro's, My sons marshall is new and his sounds great and I used a ISP-sub woofer guitar system for the heavy riffs. My son Trev co wrote and played on 2 tunes New World and Tell me what ya want from me and that is his Music man guitar on there as well. I did it all old school live tracking with a great band in my studio the Steakhouse which sports an old 64 channel EMI NEVE board. Same one that was used for Dark side of the moon! The basic band was Me, Lee Sklar, Abe Laboriel jr, Jeff Babko, Steve Weingart and Randy Goodrum on keys with Trev on rhythm guitars ( thats him on the heavy riffs he wrote) his 2 tunes with me and Lenny Castro on percussion with a few guests like Steve Porcvaro and Joe Williams from the old Toto and alot of other people too many to mention. haha
I had fun doing it and hope you all might give it a spin if ya feel like it.
I am in Mexico and I am finishing the last of my Toto stuff thru April and then gonna rehearse a new band and hit the road end of June till I drop.
No rest for the weary. hahaha
I will check in when I can.
Make sure you keep playing with your Balls

Hey Lucious can't wait to see you and Toto rock Australia again in the next couple of weeks. I hope you can't make it hear for your solo tour, all the best and god bless.
