Just started messing around with Piezo again the past few days. I checked out a ton of acoustic amps, acoustic preamps, etc. I don't have a NICE PA system at home, so that really wasn't an option for me, but I did come to a few conclusions.

I currently run my Piezo through a Roland Cube 30 monitor. Going straight in gives a dark muffled Piezo tone even when tweaking the adjustments on the EBJPM preamp. I tried a few acoustic preamps between the guitar and the monitor (Boss AD-8, Yamaha AG-Stomp, etc.) and it definitely brought the tone to life.

The thing that got me was I decided to throw a Boss GE-7 EQ in between and it came pretty close to these units after a few tweaks. It didn't have ALL of the character, but at $300 for the AD-8 I can live without those characteristics! :)

So.. I assume this is why Piezo sounds so good through a quality PA system with a nice EQ section. The key seems to lie in EQ'ing it in the right spectrums to bring out the tone. I'd imagine with a bigger EQ you could really get it just how you liked. I'm looking forward to trying it with something other than the little Boss EQ that offers a broader spectrum to tweak.

Figured somebody might find this useful and it may even save somebody a few bucks.. I know it did for me. :D

Good point.
I have a 4 band eq on my board and I do tweak it a little every now and then to get the sound to where I think I like it. I really like the piezo trem.
